More Blessed Than Stressed

Ready for a change and a “leap of faith”, I found myself sitting across the table from Bob Hutchins, owner of the Buzz Plant.  Bob’s first question to me was, ”What is the cause behind More Blessed Than Stressed?”.  I said I would like for the concept to increase awareness about the benefits of an “attitude of gratitude” and share it with as many people as possible.  I also wanted to inspire others to share a smile, a donation of time, money or service to others.  After seeing a sign at a nearby church that read, “Show More Kindness Than Necessary!  Everyone is Struggling.”, I was inspired to move forward with the project even more.

With help from the Buzz Plant, I started the process of designing a new website and phone app to encourage people in their everyday lives.  Since beach scenery is my personal favorite and very relaxing, I thought it would be the perfect background theme for More Blessed Than Stressed.

On the website, we share Special Offerings that feature inspiring ”snapshots” of many organizations around the country working to help others.  Sweet Treats offers a gallery of fun and inspiring photos with one word descriptions for each picture.  Featured Items includes select poems by author and poet, Linda Swift, plus a spotlight on some of our favorite artists and their music.  That page will also feature an individual we meet or know who is working to make a difference with their own project!  There are so many good things going on out there and we want to keep discovering and featuring them on this website to inspire others. Kaye’s Blog will continue to share fun photos, thoughts and comments, so we invite visitors to come back often and see what’s happening!!

With the More Blessed Than Stressed iPhone and Droid apps, we provide information about company brands that are doing good works around the world.  For example, imagine having your morning cup of coffee with the knowledge that you’re also helping provide youth grants, sustainable water programs, education and Gulf Coast recovery assistance.  The app also has a “Give Back Shopping Directory”  to guide personal buying power toward helping others in need.  There are Daily Quotes and a Notebook, plus a Video of the Week, filmed and directed by Wes Pryor/ReelCoolFilms.  Generous people from all walks of life have been kind enough to contribute their personal thoughts and talents to answer the questions, “What stresses you out?” and “What makes you feel blessed?”  We admire them all and extend our gratitude for their contributions!

More Blessed Than Stressed can be found on Facebook and Twitter.  We also have a YouTube channel and will keep updating and sharing fun videos of our encounters with others.  Subscribe or visit our YouTube channel at: http://www.youtube.com/user/kpryor123?feature=mhee

From the beginning, the More Blessed Than Stressed project has been and continues to be a “labor of love”.  Thanks for visiting us and we invite you to…

“Be inspired, Be involved, Be yourself.”

Kaye Reeder Pryor

Kaye Reeder Pryor is the owner of More Blessed Than Stressed and believes the concept of those four words can be used to inspire others. She encourages people to stop and take a break from their hectic schedules and find a renewed outlook on what they want out of life.

“It’s about an individual realizing their full potential.”

Kaye is a native of Paducah, KY and currently resides in Nashville, TN with her husband, Wesley.  Having spent many years traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Europe as a background vocalist, Kaye returned to college to complete a Bachelor of Independent Studies in Communications at Murray State University, including an internship in the marketing department of a Nashville record label.

After surviving a near fatal accident in the late 1990’s, Kaye’s one year recovery confirmed how family and friend support, plus hard work and positive thinking can actually transform a traumatic event into a life of purpose. Even today that experience is a constant reminder that life is a miracle, a gift and a blessing.

In 2005, when hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast, Kaye realized how much people lost and how blessed she and Wesley were in their own lives. She felt compelled to start a company in 2006 providing products with the “More Blessed Than Stressed” phrase.  Some of those products were successfully used to raise $14,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network in a Texas fundraising event.

Now, thanks to technology and social media, the original concept is moving to another level and Kaye is inviting others to actively use the website and iPhone App as tools to focus on their own goals, plus use their talents and gifts to be an inspiration. “I’m very grateful to my husband, Wesley, for the many hours of filming and editing the video clips, plus I’m thankful to all the people willing to share their comments. The overall support from Wesley and all my family has been there from the beginning and continues to keep me inspired and grounded. More Blessed Than Stressed is a heartfelt concept and I appreciate all who generously continue to share their inspiration and help us spread the word.”

BIG THANKS TO ALL!!!
