Can a T-shirt change the world?

When people change themselves, they can see a change in the world around them. There's a certain energy attached to wearing a T-shirt with the phrase "more blessed than stressed." It's a simple way of saying, "Hey, there really is more good than bad out there." In truth, everyone has some degree of stress, but the real truth is in knowing that there is individual power in taking charge of the situation and changing the response to it.

The idea of wishing and hoping for anything to happen only goes so far. It's like sitting on the sidelines, waiting to get in the game and never hearing your name called. While living the best life and letting go of fear requires "playing the game," actually "creating the game" takes more awareness and real guts.

That's why "more blessed than stressed" is not only a brand, but a concept based on directing positive thought, enjoying life and sharing that energy with others. The goal is to take life's problems and create new realities. Quite simply,
"We are what we think."
When it comes down to the game of choice, the most powerful moves are:
  • Count the wins, learn from the losses.
  • Consider any difficulty as an open invitation to become stronger.
  • Realize the impact that every choice has on others.
  • Expect to be empowered by the right choices.
  • Continue to be grateful for opportunities that bring change.
Without a doubt, we are where we are for a reason. The power we have to realize our own gifts, discover their purpose and give back to the world is why we strive for the life we are meant to live. The game begins on the inside.

Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian's USW Group
Sends Boxes of Goodies and MBTS Coffee Mugs to College Students
Every fall season the Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian USW gathers to fill boxes to send to the Brush Hill college students who are away from their church family. (USW stands for "Unstructured Women." The name was given to the group when the original purpose of gathering was to "get out of the house once a month and hang out." But you know how women are . . . they can't be "unstructured" for too long when there are so many needs to be filled! The USW has proven to be a driving force in the Nashville church of about 300 members, doing great things for the church and the community.)

Everything from candies to tissues went into eleven boxes — one box for each of seven girls and four boys. This year every student also received a More Blessed Than Stressed coffee mug! Thanks to the USW for all their hard work and for spreading the concept — be More Blessed Than Stressed!
